Service Area​

 Amatsi Water & Sanitation Company operates within the urban segments of Vihiga County covering the urban centres/ Towns of Mbale, Vihiga, Maseno, Luanda, Gambogi, Majengo and Kaimosi and their environs with an estimated population of 271,650
(1st Quarter 2023/24 Technical Committee Report of Board of Directors).

The entire population of the County was 590,013 according to the 2019 (Census) and was projected to reach 622,746 people in 2023 (CIDP 2023-2027 Vihiga County) and 634,074 in 2027.

The Company operates nine (9) water schemes. These are; Mbale, Maseno,, Kaimosi, Vihiga, Sosiani, Bumbo, Mudete, Ebunangwe and Chango Water Supply Schemes.

These schemes are clustered into five clusters as listed below;

1. Mbale / Mudete
2. Vihiga / Ebunangwe
3. Kaimosi / Bumbo
4. Maseno
5. Sosiani / Chango
